We heard your concerns about not being able to choose the way your days are used in Aldine. With your help, we were able to SECURE district compliance with what the LAW says about employee leave days.
This action has resulted in policy changes to take effect in the 2015-2016 school year. CHANGES which should have taken place during the 2012-2013 school year, by law.
1. The district will no longer be able to make you work to earn your days. The days will be accrued based on days of employment, NOT days worked. Goodbye to earning half a day for every 17 days worked!!!!
2. The district will no longer be able to force a choice on using your personal days when you are sick. You will be able to use the days as they were intended to be used.
3. Your days will be able to move with you, since the district will no longer be able to exhaust all of your state days first, as has been the practice!
