The training is meant to provide a working knowledge of the safety rights of every Aldine employee. This training provides insight how to handle an adverse student disciplinary action, how to handle tough classroom behavioral problems or handle issues with your students who misbehave. This training will answer some of the tough questions about discipline. If you are interested in knowing your safety rights and responsibilities, this is the training for you! Also, invite your fellow colleagues to this training as well because it will be beneficial for non-members as well.
Here are some of the topics that will be covered in the training are:
- Discretionary Removal
The state allows a teacher to remove a student from her classroom for repeatedly or seriously interfering with instruction.
- Mandatory Removal and Placement in a Disciplinary Alternative Educational Program
The state mandates removal of a student and placement in a disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP)) for more serious misconduct like assault causing bodily injury.
- Mandatory Removal and Expulsion
The state mandates removal, expulsion, and referral to the juvenile justice system for the gravest offense—including aggravated assault and bringing a gun to school.
